Dean's Word of Welcome
The Faculty currently employs 126 employees and 88 of them are professors. According to its size, the Faculty of Economics in Split is the second largest tertiary education institution in Croatia, right after the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb. The Faculty offers all levels of study programmes: undergraduate and graduate degree programmes as well as postgraduate specialist and doctoral studies. During the 40 years of its existence, the Faculty has educated a respectful number of PhDs, MAs and graduates in economics. Nowadays, many of them hold important positions in economy, public services as well as in political organisations. It is not easy to measure the importance of the Faculty’s role in educating young economists in Split and its large surrounding area. The future of the Faculty of Economics depends on the success of its employees. Progress of young assistants represents one of the Faculty's priorities. At the moment, the Faculty employs over 40 assistants. It is the Faculty’s permanent goal to support them and to insist upon providing them excellent education abroad. Our partners are numerous world-wide established institutions. We have got associate institutions in Europe and in the rest of the world. Our young assistants are pursuing their scientific careers at many of those institutions. Professors from some of our associate institutions are visiting professors at our Faculty. We have also got visiting students, who usually attend lectures at least during one semester at the Faculty. By having the new building built, we have ensured ourselves necessary prerequisites for performing all our activities. All of the above stated proves that we are serious about our endeavours and about entering the association of well-established and famous scientific and tertiary institutions in the field of economics while at the same time being aware of everything we have accomplished so far and of what we still have to accomplish. Therefore, I would like to wish a warm welcome to everyone who visits our web pages, above all our students and business partners.
